Synthesis of Silica-PEG By Physically Coating With PEG 4000 For Absorption of Ion Nitrate

Abstract: All production activities will eventually produce waste, especially liquid waste. The nitrate ion (NO3-) is one of the substances in waste that can have a significant impact on water systems and human health. Several methods be used to treat contained water, such as adsorption, phytoremediation, wetland treatment. One its was adsorption. silica modified with polymer due huge carbon chain. This research focused optimizing ability silica-based materials using PEG by physically coating them since has long chain could transformed into helix. In this research, adsorbent prepared from gel 4000 physical coating. parameters observed, including effect time, silica-PEG ratio, concentration. capacity absorb NO3- being studied. characterization functional group content carried out Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). study results show time 10 minutes ratio 1:5, concentration 15%, indicating optimum performance when an absorbent, which achieved 84.44 % removal. An increase absorption demonstrates porous material. It compared without process, 9.09% 84.44%.Abstrak: Semua kegiatan produksi pada akhirnya akan menghasilkan limbah, terutama limbah cair. Limbah cair biasanya bermuara di sungai dan berakhir laut. Salah satu zat dalam adalah nitrat yang mana jumlah banyak dapat mengganggu sistem perairan kesehatan. Beberapa metode digunakan untuk mengolah terkandung air, seperti adsorpsi. satunya dimodifikasi dengan polimer karena memiliki rantai karbon besar. Penelitian ini dikonsentrasikan menyelidiki optimalisasi kemampuan silika pelapisan fisik panjang bertransformasi menjadi heliks. Dalam penelitian ini, adsorben dibuat dari termodifikasi fisik. parameter diamati antara lain pengaruh waktu pelapisan, rasio silika-PEG, konsentrasi PEG, temperatur pelapisan. Kinerja silika-PEG menyerap diselidiki. Karakterisasi kandungan gugus fungsi dilakukan InfraRed Hasil menunjukkan bahwa menit perbandingan kinerja bila sebagai penyerap NO3-. Kemampuan bahan berpori dibuktikan peningkatan kapasitas penyerapan dibandingkan tanpa proses PEG.
